From the 18-24th of October, we celebrated Ethical Clothing Australia Week - highlighting locally-made and ethically-manufactured product in Australia. 2020 is also the 20th anniversary of the accreditation program.
For two decades, the accreditation program has been protecting and advocating for the rights of Australian garment workers and working towards a more transparent garment industry.
I have deep relationships with our makers, and the ECA accreditation was something as a business felt we needed to take on to make sure we can feel we are sustainable, ethical and remain transparent.
Bianca Spender is incredibly proud to have always manufactured in Australia, but even more proud that we have been accredited with Ethical Clothing Australia for over five years.
In celebration of #ECAWEEK2020, I have shared stories on how our ECA accreditation has benefited maker relationships on our Instagram account.
The videos explore my partnership with Rado Pleating, the language of sewing and how our ECA accreditation has changed my relationships with makers.
